Tune in live to Nayaswami’s Jyotish and Devi as they celebrate Swami Kriyananda’s discipleship anniversary from the Temple of Light at Ananda Village. The evening will include inspirational talks from Jyotish and Devi, videos of Swami Kriyananda, and selections of Swami Kriyananda’s music.

The defining moment of Swami Kriyananda’s life came on September 12, 1948 when he met the great master Paramhansa Yogananda. The first he said to Yogananda were “I want to be your disciple.” He spent the rest of his life fulfilling those words. The many lectures, books, works of music and spiritual communities that he created in his life, all came from his endless dedication to serving his Guru.

Join Jyotish and Devi as they celebrate this beautiful day of devotion and discipleship.

The Guru-Disciple Relationship

The Guru-Disciple Relationship includes becoming more open and receptive to the guru and to life itself.

Kriyananda discusses key elements of discipleship including loyalty, magnetism and the pitfalls of becoming dogmatic. Understanding loyalty and what it is we are being loyal to, is crucial to right understanding of the guru-disciple relationship.
