    I have been very impressed by the thorough explanation of the Ananda Meditation techniques and course reading.

    The multimedia course lessons were provided weekly in a manageable, user-friendly and detailed approach.

    Other programs I studied have not covered the methods and practice of Meditation in such a comprehensive manner.

    The support from the Ananda teachers was very personable and professional.

    There was an optional quiz at the end of each week. This encouraged improved homework on my behalf as it reinforced the main points of the course teachings.

    This has led me to have a high opinion of the Ananda organisation.

    I have now joined the Ananda Virtual Community to keep me encouraged!

    I have done meditation before, but never with this level of proper instruction and focus. Your study materials, from reading, to videos, to live lectures. have been such a great help to me. And I am very grateful! For the first time, I feel like I have a much more profound grasp on the practice of meditation, and how it benefits me, not just during my practice, but throughout the other hours of my life.

    Previous attempts in years past were more like going through the motions. With this course, I was really able to apply a deeper meaning. I highly recommend this meditation course.

    Yes, very good. I had a cerebral hemorrhage last year and was having some trouble with my vision and comprehension. however, i found i was able to do the class better than i thought. the material was fairly easy to navigate. I Have a regular meditation practice know with the energizations. I am a geek so i enjoyed Nayaswami Sagars references to Marvel and The Lord of the Rings movies. I want to continue with the next course

    This course has been very beneficial in my understanding of the techniques of meditation and the step by step approach helped to build week by week a programmed way of introducing daily meditation into my life.The course materials were very descriptive of the techniques to use and will help me in the future as I constantly review my progress as life goes on.     I was really pleasantly surprised how helpful every one was, and so much inspiring content is available on the web site. I have been meditating for 45 years and yet there was a lot that was new to me, the meditation technique that is taught is what I was looking for. I already knew some of this but the difference is in the details.

    The difference is also in the Guru, you can feel the kindness of Yogananda and this radiates from the instructors also; but you also know there is a discipline that is necessary to be successful in this path, just like anything else. In my opinion this is a true path in that it can deliver the desired results if you make the effort.

    I write this review specifically for devotees of Paramahansa Yogananda out there who took their lessons through SRF and who may be wondering if this is legitimate or worthwhile.

    I can assure you 100% with all my love and devotion to our guru Paramahansa Yogananda and the kriya path, that yes, this is an incredibly valuable, enriching, deepening, furthering, expanding way to re-learn the same path as in the original lessons through SRF. It is not an alteration or deviation in any way; the path and techniques are the same guru given techniques of Paramahansa Yogananda.

    I have been a follower of SRF for 30 plus years and took lessons through SRF including Kriya almost 20 years ago. But I took this series of courses to help me re-solidify my regular meditation routine and for the egalitarian community aspect that Ananda offers. I write this review because I was feeling a bit hesitant at first, not knowing if it would be authentic. I waited to write this review until I went through all the Kriya prep courses to be able to really have the full picture of the process.

    I can tell you with absolute certainty, Ananda meditation courses are well worth it. They are another presentation of the true information, path, and techniques of Paramahansa Yoganandaji. But in addition, the online classes offer a community and instructors that are sincere, warm, approachable, communicative, and interactive.

    Kriyananda’s additional talks and writings are extremely helpful as they offer an insight into the information and learning of the techniques which explains more specifically what the average person might experience along the way, and how we can work through those to continue to have joy, devotion, motivation, longevity and consistently in our practice. I find this broadening of the information so clever because it articulates exactly the type of questions, challenges, and confusions that us ”normal folk” encounter at one point or another along our journey, and it offers advice, guidance, insights, and strategies to help us comprehend, apply, and stick to the path our guru has given us.

    So for all that, I am extremely grateful to Ananda and blessed to have had the guidance to take the leap of faith and take these courses. My hope is that if you are out there, sure of the path itself in your heart, but needing an extra explanation, boost and support system, I highly recommend the path to Kriya online courses with Ananda with all that it offers. Joy to you!

    Many other reviews cover the great content and results you can expect from this class. I will, therefore, focus on another dimension: the consciousness of the teachers. All of the teachers walk their talk. They not only are experienced meditators, but they act lovingly toward us students. When I received responses to my quiz submissions from Marissa and Nayaswami Nefretete, I felt like Divine Mother energy was flowing my way. They were so encouraging and had obviously “listened” to me before responding thoughtfully. Similarly, Sagar, who led most of the webinars and organized the class, was always friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. These leaders demonstrate a high level of consciousness; they are some of God’s hands, eyes and feet on Earth. I learned a lot from this course and I enjoyed the process and the teachers very much.     I have been meditating intermittently for many years and learning different techniques from a buddhist Shambala school to Vippasana. This is the one that has really captured me and helped me to quell my very busy mind. The lessons are not long but there is much to explore within the teachings and to experience not just make an intellectual study of it. As a type A personality I like the step by step framework of deeper and deeper levels of relaxation and concentration until even I could find moments of complete calm and silence. It will require one to put aside some time, and a time when life is quiet around you; which can be a difficult for people in busy households… but if you can make that work in your life, the practice is very sweet and rewarding.

    I’ve taken quite a few meditation courses, and this one is outstanding. As a working professional and a single mother, it’s hard for me to find time to do extra things, but the course format and length make it easy to complete at your own pace. It’s very thorough on seating postures, breathwork, the flow of energy, exercises to relax to get the most out of meditation. And when I started doing the energization exercises, I felt a shift for the better in my life right away. What a blessing to have found Ananda and the profound teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda.     My journey to self realisation has been ongoing for over a decade or more, I never really was taught how to meditate, this course is the best course in that it not only instructs you on the posture but the why’s for the particular postures, it also appealed to me in regards to touching on topics of the energitic planes and vibrations.     I had a sporadic meditation practice and thought the goal was getting close to a sleep-like state; my eyes would sink and body droop in the chair. I learned a lot in this course about the practical aspects of meditation and saw results right away. My mind is more energized but calm and focused.     Since I am not new to this line of meditation, my review will not be from a beginner’s perspective. Twelve years ago, I learned meditation and kriya from SRF. At the time, I was very socially shy and didn’t want to interact with anyone, and my husband was also very against my learning to meditate, so the SRF lessons were perfect since they came in the mail. I remain grateful to SRF for this. But things in my life are different now, and I’m drawn to the outward expression of Ananda. Devalila told me it would be helpful to take these lessons to fill in the gaps of my past meditation lessons. She was so right! Since I may want to take kriya from Ananda, I thought, “I will take these lessons even though they will be redundant.” Not so!! I was entranced by every reading assignment, every satsang, and every video by Swami Kriyananda. I thought, “why has all this knowledge been hidden?” But it’s not hidden. It’s here for whoever wants it. And the teachers are so attentive to the students, something I’ve never before experienced. They guided us step by step each week, which really helps to establish a successful, long-term meditation practice. These lessons are much more fast-paced than the SRF lessons, and there’s a lot of information given in a short amount of time. This is neither good nor bad, it just means that you have to give a few hours a week to study, practice, reflect, and take a weekly quiz. But it’s worth the time and effort!

    I have been meditating regularly for over a year, when I decided to take part in Ananda meditation course. It was great 8 weeks, filled with practice, lectures, chanting, and most of all deepening the practice. Energization exercises have helped me to bring more balance to my body. Breathing exercises and meditation exercises balanced my mind. It feels like being on the right path. Thanks to all the teachers, for the commitment and availability.     Prior to starting my meditation course with Ananda I was a little lost .I wanted to meditate,however I was unsure how to go about it .As soon as I entered my first lesson the uncertainty dissipated and I was meditating!I now meditate twice a day , with chanting and prayer and I am also using the energisation techniques taught in this course twice a day .Honestly my focus is better ,my energy levels are much better and I am far more centred than I have been since I can remember.The teachers are very helpful and supportive and I can’t recommend this course highly enough .

    I’ve been a student of the Self-Realization fellowship and have completed all of their 18x basic lessons. These lessons are amazing and insightful but I’ve always struggled with applying the techniques that were taught, such as the Hong-Sau method of concentration and the Energization Exercises. The Ananda course in Meditation allowed me to go over all of these techniques (and more!), all complemented with amazing video content and direct access to tutors and other students.     What a great journey and a great path to be on. As the course started I was a little skeptical but gradually and slowly I started learning some great tools like Hong Sau, double breathing and learning about willingness which have greatly impacted my ability to relax before meditation and deeply concentrate during meditation. At the end of this great journey, I am so glad to say I can go into deeper meditation mode easily and quickly. Through this course, I am also grateful to get in touch with some awesome teachers who guided us through quizzes and queries.     The introduction to meditation course was exactly what I needed to turn my (constantly unfulfilled) desire to meditate in to a regular enriching practice. For years I told myself I would start meditating but was never quite able to motivate myself to get started. Joining the class connected me with 4 very responsive and motivating experts who were always available to answer questions and provide extra support. The course is structured such that it’s very easy to adopt the new techniques as they’re introduced and feel your practice grow. The course presents just enough ‘required’ course material to not feel overwhelmed, while also providing links to additional material to dig deeper should you want to!     I have thoroughly enjoyed this course… the lessons were well laid out. The resource materials, videos (and books for purchase) that were available made the concepts and techniques easy to absorb into my lifestyle. My questions were answered promptly by Sagar…thanks so much! I enjoyed the weekly check-ins and the longer medition opportunities as well as the chants…. could some be made available in handout form?

    My only concern (which was addressed by my quiz review mentor) involved the energization exercises… if someone needed for them to be modified due to physical issues or slowed down, are there videos available addressing those concerns?

    I did purchase COSMIC CHANTS and Master’s CD of classic chants and am looking forward to chanting along with Yogananda during my practice.

    Now looking forward to taking the Chakra class, completing the Yoga Teachings class and the next phase of Kriya.

    I have spent many years reading and listening to spiritual material and learned greatly from doing it. After taking this course I realized I was doing a great job at surrounding myself with good messages but I was not being as active a player as I could be. This course is presented in a very natural way and builds gently week to week. I noticed that it was very simple in one aspect but challenging in another, there was always more room to grow. I felt I was being pushed in a very loving and gentle way. I can’t say enough about the passion and commitment of the Ananda team, they provided the right material and advice at the right time.     I never thought that I would need this course until I saw the impact it has on my meditation practice. I have been using guided meditation ever since I knew about meditation, and since I learned the techniques, I started to go through it and apply the lessons without any MP3s to follow.     As a practitioner of various forms of meditation for many years, I wasn’t sure what I would gain by participating in this course. But the content and online approach seemed intriguing. So … why not? I can now say after completing the Course in Meditation that, whether you’re an experienced meditator or someone just beginning to explore this spiritual approach, there’s much here from which you’ll benefit. Becoming more familiar with breathing techniques, the Hong-Sau technique and the Energization Exercises, as well as the readings, videos, audio clips, webinars, meditation sessions, quizzes, and personal support and responsiveness to questions from the facilitators … each has combined to make my daily meditation practice deeper and more fulfilling. The course is well designed and well paced. It’s also worth noting that the tone and structure of this course is accessible to those of any faith tradition or none at all. While you will indeed learn about elements of Hindu and Christian teachings along the way, deepening one’s own meditation practice — based upon tried-and-true techniques — is the goal. Finally, the course fee is reasonable in relation to the value received, in my view. Special thanks to course leader Sagar and the entire Ananda team for making this course such a great experience.     This is an absolutely wonderful and detailed course about meditation for spiritual upliftment. The instructors are very knowledgeable, caring, and polite. I would also recommend downloading the Ananda App as it has guided mediations that one can do along side this course.     Absolutely wonderful experience! This course has been designed with a lot of deliberate consideration to allow for intellectual understanding and through experiential learning. The course paces well and does not overburden at any time. I loved that they gave us two weeks in the end to just soak in all the learnings and catch up if we fell behind at any point in the course. The week structure is also very well thought out. I looked forward to the live satsangs every week! The videos are extremely engaging and the content is very actionable. It’s amazing how every instructor always is encouraging lovingly to take the next step to advance our practices.     Exceeded my expectations! This course has been a life changer for me. The content, instructors, and delivery of classes were awesome.

    My Christian faith scriptures focus on prayer and meditation. Prayer has always been part of my life. Not so with meditation. I knew little to nothing about the what, when, where, and how of mediation. Just the thought of meditation was intimidating to me. Taking this course took away the intimidation.

    I loved the way the instructors embraced me and held my hand through the process of learning the basics of meditation.

    Thank you to The One Great Spirit, the Kriya Masters, and the teachers at Ananda for propagating the holy truth—Sat Chit Ananda. The class helped me open a new perspective on the purpose of life and in humanity’s great potential for self realization.

    On a very practical level, I learned how to build better balance, concentration, will, and love into my daily activities. This ultimately helping me feel more unconditionally happy more often and taught me how to shift out of lower states faster.

    Physically, the consistent application of the energization exercises and meditation techniques helped me clear unbalanced energy in my body, rendering a more healthy state of “being.” I felt more awake, more physically integrated, and more focused on making changes in nutrition and lifestyle. I seek to serve friends and family do the same if they wish!

    Psychologically, I learned to observe the landscape of consciousness (subconscious thoughts, feelings, physical awareness) more clearly, internally and as a “mirroring” effect externally. I learned to first seek to understand and strive to refrain from hasty judgement (a work in progress), as our own psychology is deeply limited in knowing the grater reality. I learned to let go of unneeded judgement more often, while sharpening inner discernment through logic and creative intuition.

    In personal relationships, the meditation helped me feel greater unity with others, as a byproduct of my own shifting internal unity. Meditation helped me perceive the desire for happiness in all beings, and the need to let go of our collective misunderstanding on where happiness comes from. I felt greater compassion and more responsibility to “be the change” in our world through example, rather than blame and judgement.

    Spiritually, the class enabled me to set more meaningful priorities in my
    life. I have begun the most important personal and collective quest, to know God within the self, as one’s very own being, love, truth, beauty. Of all the things I learned, I cherish this the most.

    Whether you are new to the path or have practiced for decades, you can learn a lot in the class IF you devote your heart to it. I feel the practice is compatible with all religions and paths, and even enhanced my own inner knowing of the Christ, Krishna, Buddha, the Saints as the truth/love/beauty within my own world inner kingdom. But hadn’t I taken this course, I would have missed out on powerful tools such as Hong-sau techniques, energizing exercises, relaxation exercises and many handy tips to concentrate and deepen my practice. The teachers are very helpful in their guidance and very prompt in their responses. I personally felt that this is not just about taking the course, getting the certificate and then relax.     I have been meditating almost daily for more than 16 years now. I love meditating. I always said: my way is meditation. In the last 8-9 years I have tried several different practices until I came cross to Ananda and taking this meditation course.

    I have tried many medidation practises in the past but the ease with which Yogananda’s Transcendental meditation works and becomes a part of you is beyond a review. I am a mere mortal would be a a nobody to write a review what the expert master left for the word to learn but nevertheless my tiny bit: the technique of Hong Sau and curling of index finger , the breathing control are all amazingly simple but give miraculous results. I never thought visualization would be of any benefit to me but after practising with this course I find myself doing it anywhere and evrywher whenever I have an idle moment and I keep picking the vivid scenes from nature and keep them in my thoughts to recall whenever I want a calm mind. The expansion method of spreading peace within me and all around my environment and universe is soothening and blissful to say the least.     The introductory meditation class helped me to develop and follow a daily routine for meditation. The course instructors provided very useful feedback through the weekly quiz notes and via email responses whether the issue related to the challenges of quieting my mind or working on one of the energization exercises. Though I’m still very much at the beginning of this process, the daily practice has clearly improved my way of dealing with the stressors of the day.
    The weekly virtual sessions were recorded for anyone who wasn’t able to join the live presentations. These were complimented by related weekly readings that are easy to either read online or download for off-line reading.
    The weekly readings are supplemented by optional short periodic readings.
    The goals of the course are laid out in a timeframe that makes them fairly easy to achieve as we stepped through the 10-week session.

    I have been meditating twice per day for eight years and learned a lot during week one of this course. I would considered advanced in some meditation organizations and I study the Yoga Sutras somewhat regularly. I have to say that this course helped to greatly increase my understanding.     I just finished Step 1 on the Path of Kriya Yoga and it has affected me in a profound way that I did not expect. I have taken meditation classes before but not with this depth of understanding from the masters and connection to God. Where I felt scattered before, I now feel a realignment and renewal happening.     This is an extremely well organized, easy to follow course for a beginning meditator as well as a great review of the techniques for renewing a practice. The videos of the Energization Exercises to be learned for each week and the in-depth Hong Sau practice and other information is incredibly helpful. The pace is pretty spot on: not too fast or slow. The teachers are knowledgeable and supportive. Their helpful suggestions and kind words are really appreciated when learning new material or brushing up on techniques. It is impossible not to feel the positive results from practicing. You can download most of the course material for future reference which is invaluable. All in all, I enjoyed the course and would highly recommend it!

    Five years ago my university had encouraged staffs and students enrolled into a yoga and meditation class twice a week at noon hour, I joined the class, after joining the class I felt more calming and joyfully!

    This is a great course to start your meditation journey. It gets you started with right posture, right technique. Also, it teaches you the energization exercises which helps me get into deep state very quickly. Since the course, I have been meditating 1/2 hr. in the morning, 1/2 hr. in the evening and 1/2 hr for energization exercises daily. I lead a busy and hectic technology startup life style but surprisingly I am able to find time for meditation. I can feel the energy flow all the time and find myself centered around the core more often than not. It has made a huge difference in my day to day life.     This course came to me at just the right time on my journey. I felt curiously drawn to the path of Kriya Yoga for some months prior to taking the course and was looking for more information on this path.

    I am very new to meditation and had only been practicing regularly for a few months before taking the course so I was fortunate to be able to come to it with no expectations and an open mind. I had taken a couple of guided meditation courses just before which were really great but I felt I needed to develop a good practice on my own.

    I received many graces during the 10 weeks of the course and I left so extremely grateful for the entire experience and with a good meditation routine.     This is an absolutely brilliant course! Outstanding motivation is provided by the teachers. The instruction is superb, for instance the detail and clear, unhurried pace of instruction on the energization exercises. The content is definitely overall way more ‘than what it says on the box’.     This is a phenomenal course. I highly recommend it.

    I did not have a system in past and struggled with meditation. Now, I feel like I have a system. This course will get you started on the journey (which I think is the first and perhaps a difficult step).     I thought I meditated , I took this course and I learnt I didn’t know what meditation is, I followed the instructions and now I am starting to meditate.
    There is a technique for starting meditation and one must learn it, otherwise it’d be difficult, still possible (God always lead us to Him) but it’d take longer and most people would lose the safety way.
    This course instructors dedicate heart full to teach us the technique, they really open themselves from deep inside, simply offering their best, which you may believe me is not less.

The step-by-step type lessons compassionately created the formation of habits to practice meditation in small and brief yet powerful steps. The course then built upon each lesson to reach the ‘end-goal’ so to speak of a full practice, including Energization Exercises, Chanting, and Meditation in a way that inspired versus being overwhelming.     I had been “meditating” for several years before I took this course based upon techniques taught in previous meditation classes, but was feeling a bit frustrated with my progress. I saw this class and my first reaction was “I know how to meditate; what’s this going to teach me that I don’t already know?”.

    Eventually I decided to sign up for the course, somewhat reluctantly, and I must say that it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made – I learned so much and now have a daily practice that I really look forward to. From a practical standpoint, the course is very comprehensive, well-organized, and rigorous.     The first step for me was to watch Swami Kriyananda on YouTube. Then I went online and found Ananda Village, and this meditation class was about to start.
    I felt the desire to return to a way of life that I had over 50+ years ago. Taking the class’s, learning the Energization exercises was the next turning point for me.
    I (had) nightly leg and body cramps from a bad auto accident some years ago. After a very short time of doing the exercises, the cramping began to be less and less.
    I am sure combined with the breathing exercises and working with Hong Sau breathing at the beginning of meditation, my body responded and feels healthier than it has in years! There were lots of printouts, videos, lots of help with questions, this class is well developed with dedicated teachers who want you to learn. This has been the start of a journey home for me.     Prior to taking this course, I felt that meditation had plateaued. This course offered numerous techniques which helped me deepen my meditation.
    The biggest takeaway for me were teachings and practices to combine spiritual life with day to day life.     New to meditation or In a rut with your current meditation then this is truly the course for you! I have been on and of with my meditation for years, and mainly off I would say. With this course you are submerged into so much valuable teaching and insight into the superconsiousness that through the process I felt my heart open and a deep change occur. I have always had the desire to connect with god and this really helped me with my practice. The change was subtle, but towards the end I noticed what the effects of the learning material and the practice of meditating had made in me.

    The course is laid out in your dashboard when you log in and each week you recieve the weeks teaching with vidoes and pdf’s of the vidoes and a short quiz which helps solidify your knowledge. Sometimes I had resistance to doing the work but that is actually covered in the course. Things like how to sit, what to do when in a rut, really great techniques for deepening your meditation and lots of inspirational quotes to really reach out and speak to anyone who is struggling on their journey. There are also lots of emails, additional information and group zooms to join so you can do a group meditation together. I never managed to do the zooms, but there are recordings for you if wish to participate. There was a lot of supplemental information, so should you want more there is plenty of resources offered, but the course itself was enough for me time wise.

    All the teachers are very kind and friendly and I felt part of the Ananda family during my course. It was a spiritually changing course for me to know more of my higher self and strengthen the connection with the Divine. I will continue to practice. I have printed out the lessons so I can re-read them to keep me on my path. This is a really insightful and great foundation for anyone who wants to start meditation or go deeper into meditation.

    I came across and enrolled in this course while reading the Autobiography of a Yogi. But now I realize that it was actually the vibrations in the book and my soul’s calling that led me here.
    Before taking this course, I had been through a couple of different spiritual practices but it was here that I learned how to meditate properly, the true meaning of prayer and how to connect with the Divine. I found the wisdom and the messages shared through the lessons, videos and the live webinars each week truly inspiring and I could see the difference in the length and the essence of my meditation with each passing week.
    But what made this course truly worthwhile were the amazing teachers. From going over the lessons, sharing words of wisdom and singing chants that deeply touched the heart in the live webinars to giving personalized feedback on the quizzes, encouraging responses to our questions and sending humorous but inspiring emails throughout the week, the teachers motivated us each day to keep going, to keep moving forward and not to give up. 
    My life has changed since taking this course. It hasn’t become easier or more difficult but now I find myself responding rather than reacting to the adversities that come my way. I’m looking forward to continuing this spiritual journey with the next course.

    Reading Paramahansa Yogananda’s ”Autobiography of a Yogi” made a deep impression on me. So, when I saw Ananda Meditation promoted online, I decided to enroll. The 10 week structured course with graduated lessons and quizzes attracted me. After signing up, I was pleasantly surprised by the emphasis on Breathing Techniques and Energization Exercises teaching us how to relax the body and mind to enable quality meditation. Video and audio recordings are most helpful, because they lead by example. Prayer, Visualization, and Chanting is promoted to further develop devotion to God.

    Overall, I find this introductory 10 week course most helpful in teaching us how to meditate. Many thanks to all the dedicated instructors for gently leading us on the way. A sure all-time winner!

    When I got an email about this meditation course, I signed up on impulse because I was struggling with my meditation practice again.     I have been having the thought of what should we live for. My answer to that has been that we should strive to bring peace and contentment in the world which will lead to maintaining the earth the way God created. There are many efforts of various kinds for it but I strongly believe that more and more people following the path of Yoga is the most fundamental approach to it, though it is daunting in magnitude. This course was excellently paced with instructors who we can look forward to listening and getting feedback and holistically prepares the student for the Yogic path with small step every week.     After meditating daily for three years with no instruction, I signed up for this course, wondering if it would be a bunch of fluff or useful. While I did my best, I was not perfect in every aspect of mindfully completing quizzes or taking the proper time to do a particular exercise. Nevertheless, I noticed improvement in my meditation easily within the first week. Also I noticed a greater sense of calm during the day between meditations. My perception of others shifted a bit in a positive direction, albeit sporadically. One of the instructors, Sagar, with whom I had the most interaction, has a genuineness and authenticity that brought this course to life. My plan was to bulldoze through the 4 steps of Kriya Yoga no matter what, but I have already gained something of great value to me. I am trying to quell my expectations for the next stages!

    Great Course with Great Friendly Instructors. I went from never Meditating in my life to being able to Meditate or begin to Meditate for an hour rather easily.

    I found the structure of the course very intuitive. Online lessons, videos and interactive responses from experience meditators. Also personal questions answered by email.
    The course has many techniques to integrate one’s practice. Energization exercises, are a awesome prerequisite before meditation practice. They really set the tone for a deeper and enriching meditation. At first they may appear to be a lot to remember, but with the help of a smartphone, apps and online videos, they become effortless in time.
    For me the biggest component of these teachings are how one’s heart and mind can become attuned to our innermost being. God spirit.
    Chanting and prayer for me, is making the journey much more fruitful! I really love it! It’s been the missing component in my previous meditation practice.
    One may ask, How on Earth can a lineage of deceased yoga Masters help me in my daily life? Like any scientific experiment, I say to you; Give it a try, it works! Chanting is a great fertilizer!

    This course has been life changing for me. My husband passed away this past year leaving me with a void and distant form the Divine. I know finding this course was a gift. This has given me a new perspective on meditation and the tools and support needed on this path. The teachers are wonderful and provide resource, guidance and love. I have looked forward to the daily emails and live sessions, which I will miss. Another gift was completing reading Autobiography of a Yogi. I highly recommend this course.

    This course seems to have quite an impact on the intensity and frequency of “meditating”. Doing the energization exercises is rather much in the beginning, but exercising daily helps a lot in the end. I am so glad to have joined this course, because the meditation is much more relaxed than usual, which as was mentioned by you, brings more joy and easyness and can be maintained for a longer time. I only did the energization exercises somewhat too intensely, which resulted in some overstretched muscles, so now I have to pause for some time to recover. However, I certainly intend to go on with them, only a bit more intelligently. And many thanks to the friendly and helpful instructors, who did quite a good job. I am very interested how we will proceed with the Kriya course. Thanks for everything!

    If you are looking to get started with meditation and with your own sadhana in a proper, systematic way, this course is an ideal aide. It starts with teaching one how to sit for meditation, and at least for me, it clarified all my misconceptions about sitting on the floor in a yogic posture, which I always found distracting beyond 20 minutes. You will learn about the stages of meditation, how to systematically develop your practice with chanting, japa, concentration and a breathing technique called Hong Sau. You will also learn to energize or use your will power to draw prana/life force within the body. I loved the detailed and well organized course structure. There are several resources at your disposal as well, from chants to videos. The only issue I had was that most of the satsangs were organized as per PDT and I live in CET time zone. I had the recordings at my disposal, but it would have been nice to be there live and online as well. That said, all the instructors are super approachable and open and always available when you have a question. Go for it and get started seriously with your sadhana!

    I’m profoundly grateful for the opportunity to take this class and get started in my journey of meditation. I appreciate the pace and structure of the course and the ongoing support and guidance; someone is always available to answer your questions. I highly recommend this course to everyone.

    I first became interested in meditation when I discovered a video of Nayaswami Maria’s “Getting started with meditation,” her calm demeanor and easy-to-understand explanation made me try it. I was pleasantly surprised that after only the first time, I saw immediate benefits, including reducing my elevated blood pressure to better-than-normal levels and then coping with stress better. That led me to find out more and sign up for a class.

    It was also synchronicity that just two weeks earlier, I had seen the film “AWAKE: The Life of Yogananda” and was inexplicably drawn to his image, particularly his eyes; it was a feeling of familiarity. Funny how things work out because I did not immediately make a connection to “Ananda.org,” and it was only after I signed up for the class that it all made sense; why am I here? Why have my spirit guides led me here? it is exactly what I needed.

    I’m happy that meditation is now part of my daily routine; I could not imagine starting the day without it now. It has become more intuitive, and I feel that over time I will gain even more control over my wandering mind.

    This class helped me considerably in setting a routine, learning techniques to help me focus and concentrate, and providing some valuable insights into the connection between Christianity and other religions. The online Zoom meditations twice weekly were also of great value. I especially was happy that they could be accessed later, as the time difference was not always convenient for me.

    The one thing that I was not so pleased with was insistence that all of the steps HAD to be followed in order to meditate properly. Getting wrapped up in too much technique and dogma is exactly what stifles progress, and is one of the biggest barriers to acceptance in any religion. The techniques and teachings are supposed to be guidelines and principles to assist in helping people along. It absolutely is NOT necessary to do all or any of the energization exercises in order to meditate properly. It is just one of many techniques that can help a person.

    I really appreciated the feedback all of the instructors gave and felt Brahmachari Sagar was especially good in the online Zoom meditations. Thank you to all of you!

    I am fairly new to *true* meditation, I have dabbled in sensationalized/Westernized meditation and yoga but did not understand the inner workings. This course opened my heart to the meaning or “why” of meditation and yoga. This course is for everyone (all inclusive), however, I can see how it would be difficult for many to complete, especially if they don’t understand what they are getting into.

    This course can be challenging and there is a lot of deep material to cover. For the price of the course, you get that much material and more. If you approach this course with an open heart, willingness to learn, and dedication to God, you will find many benefits. If you are looking for easy answers and/or a quick way to learn meditation without much effort then this course may not be for you, *yet*.

    The instructors, Sagar & Jitendra, are wonderful and gave very knowledgeable and wise webinars. Their feedback along with the feedback of Eleni and Bandhu was very helpful throughout the course and they all respond in a timely manner. I sent a couple emails directly to the instructors during the course and they responded promptly and they put a lot of thought into the response, not just a standard reply, which I greatly appreciated. You learn a variety of techniques including Energization Exercises demonstrated excellently by Gyandev.

    The teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda and Swami Kriyananda are beautiful and wise and I am forever grateful for finding this community. I am definitely going to take more courses, continue reading the books, and I look forward to learning more! Thank you all.

    This was my first meditation course. I am semi retired and I was thankful that I didn’t have to work full time as I think I may have struggled to complete the course. It does require time and commitment. To me, it is so much more than just an online course in meditation. It is life changing potentially as it seeks to alter how you live your life and provides a path to discover ones own divinity. It is hard work which I hadn’t realised which goes to show just how much I didn’t know. I’m aiming to learn more by going onto the next stage.

    The course is fantastic. It is structured very well. It is not too demanding and yet it is not too loose. It provides a great introduction to what meditation is and what it is not, a distinction I believe is important today because of the nature of the dominant global culture to misinterpret ancient teachings. In the last 10 weeks, I have learned a lot, theoretically and experientially, not just in meditation but in other techniques that are provided within the course. The techniques offered are indeed simple, yet really powerful and should be respected and utilized the way they are thought.     This is my second time taking this course. I have been meditating and practicing presence for many years. While have taken breaks from regular practice, I have always come back to meditation and my spiritual roots. This course is much improved from the original one that I took through Ananda.     This course has been the best course in meditation. I have learned meditation elsewhere. This course gave me the answers to the questions I had for a while. What makes the course complete is the reading material it provides with a quiz which ensures we learn the key concept followed by the class where you get the experience. You also get the experience when you do the homework.
    Please keep aside an additional 4-5 hours a week (at least) as the course involves quizzes and meditation practice. I gave more time than this as I wanted to do more meditation.

    The teachers are all excellent especially Sagar. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make you successful. I will be taking more courses with Ananda in the new future.

    After being on the spiritual path for most of my adult life and having spent a few summer months at Ananda I decided it was time to seriously work mediation into my spiritual practice. So Ananda was chosen for my further training because I know the Ananda Community knows how to meditate and could provide solid foundational teachings.

    I took the on-line meditation teacher training course over two years ago. It was excellent! In following the path to Kriya Yoga I needed to take this course, Lessons in Meditation.     I have been trying to meditate from last few years. I did so much google and read many blogs/websites. But at the end nothing was happening. I was not getting any direction. I was not able to build a routine for meditation or even sit relaxed eyes closed for 5 minutes. Suddenly one fine day I saw this course, and thought to give it a try. And let me tell you this course has been a life changer for me. In last 2-3 months, I learned clear directions step by step, beginning from the basic how to sit properly, how to relax, great Hong Sau technique, energisation exercises etc. I am able to build a morning routine now.
    The benefits of this meditations are so many. I feel more calm, feel peace during my work. I feel less worried. I am able to plan things better, focus on one thing at a time. There are so many benefits, and it’s hard to explain. But I guess you get the meaning.
    Course structure is so well planned. Each week opens a new chapter, all the materials are provided. Course contents are well planned. There are pdfs, audio, video, weekly routine and quiz.
    Instructors are great. They provide guided meditation and teach each week’s lessons. They provide answer to all your questions during course lecture, or via email response.
    Overall I can’t thank enough to this course and instructors. I am looking forward to have deeper relation with Ananda.

    I feel its a tremendous blessing from God and the line of Gurus, especially my beloved Guru, Paramahansa Yogananda to be drawn to these lessons. They are really amazing and the instructors have made the process so organized and simple for the beginners to easily assimilate and follow.     I absolutely loved this course. I thought I was already close to God before, but this has allowed me to sit quietly every morning and just stay focused, with pure intent to love God even more. First, the practices come from Paramahansa Yogananda and I began to feel the power of that source material as the lessons progressed.     I’ve practiced many types of meditation over the years beginning with TM, being a devotee of Osho and his meditation techniques, and currently meditating weekly with a local group. Despite all that, establishing a regular daily practice of depth has been elusive. The solitude brought by the Covid pandemic made that need even more intense. So I feel blessed to have discovered this class. I now look forward to my daily meditations with anticipation, even when my ego self is dragging its feet! This is hands down the best online learning experience I’ve had. Such variety of information structured to perfection and abundant personal attention is a rare find. Two weekly live Zoom sessions with Sagar and Jitendra were so helpful for connecting. I loved that Sagar introduced particularly deep topics that I often contemplate…the cosmic light show, death and “kicking the frame”. Also the thoughtful feedback from Nayaswami Susan and Eleni and the added information they provided when grading my quizzes was wonderful. I also use the Ananda app to time and journal my daily meditations. Don’t hesitate to sign up. This course is way beyond expectations.

    After reading “Autobiography of a Yogi” and watching the documentary “Awake”, my interest in self realization began to grow immensely.
    After a rough patch in 2020 I knew I needed something life altering that would help me with struggles to come, something I could carry into practice the rest of my life, something that wasn’t prescribed by a doctor.
    I joined the website and through doing so, learned of an upcoming class introducing Kriya Yoga. I have since completed the class and thoroughly enjoyed the journey. I have benefitted, already, in a short time and plan on taking any additional classes offered.
    New to meditation and new to any “On Line” based class, I found the classes easy to navigate and the instructors and helpful and patient. I couldn’t recommend this class higher.

    This online course is much more than Lessons in Meditation. It is a commitment to yourself to change your daily life and become more joyful. Sagar and Jitendra are both devoted teachers whose webinars and emails keep you interested and are easy to receive. Their knowledge and delivery of the material for each lesson was interesting and you felt like they were talking to you. I looked forward to those webinars each week. The lessons and other materials available insured that you were given the opportunity to learn each step of the journey and the feedback on quizzes was excellent. The lessons was organized so that each subsequent lesson built on the one before so that you could learn at your own pace . The only problem I had and this may be personal, Is the as the lessons progressed, I started to feel that there was greater emphasis on Christianity in prayers. This made me uncomfortable as I am not Christian.
    Still the meditation techniques affected me is such a way, a deep way, that I felt God within myself and I looked forward to my meditations twice a day. I plan to take the next course and see how things evolve.

    Ever since I have started using the Hong Sau meditation and Energizations Exercises taught in this wonderful course, I have found immense change in my life both physically and mentally. For the last few years I have been suffering from breathing problem due to asthma and had to use an inhaler quite frequently.. After practicing the Energization Exercises combined with Hong Sau meditation, the breathing problem has reduced considerably. Now I have to use the inhaler only very rarely. I especial appreciate the sound approach of educating with emphasis on scientific techniques, explicitly taught and broken down into digestable amounts for each lesson, that I could “get my arms around” each week and complete.     I loved this course. The instructors were absolutely delightful, they all demonstrated great kindness and patience. Each was loving, encouraging and supportive in their own unique ways. The course itself and material was tremendous in every aspect. All new info was in bite size pieces so was very easy to incorporate. Each week built upon the previous one with a new practice that deeply enhanced the previous ones. I especially loved how there were many different resources to easily available to access for gaining greater understanding of the science or practice. I honestly don’t think they could do anything more to be of help. I encouraged others to do it because they would learn both coping skills and life enhancing tools to last a lifetime.     I have enjoyed this course very much. It is clearly structured and builds logically on each other, everything is comprehensible. The website is well done, the instructional videos are from high to very high level, the personal attention is really personal, warm and very helpful. The quizzes at the end of each lesson are manageable and consolidate what has been learned. There is always a personal and helpful feedback to the answers. I was able to name my difficulties and resistances openly and always got hints that helped me. The weekly Satsangs have almost become a habit and my wife and I will miss them.     I have loved this course from start to finish. I have been meditating for a long time but the Hong Sau Technique is something very special. I have found this technique amazing and I would recommend to anyone who wants to have a much deeper experience with their meditation it is so blissful and the concentration has helped me to be much clearer and centred when I am working. The energisation exercises are incredible, I have so much more energy and my soul is so nourished. I use to have a bit of pain in my neck and back before I started these exercises but now it is completely gone.     This course has been tremendous in my spiritual progress. It has done for me in 2 months what I was trying to get/understand most of my life in spiritual seeking with other practices and teachings. All the teachings are one essentially, but there are many different approaches. With this teaching from Yoganandaji, it has brought all the aspects that are essential for me, devotion, mystical aspects, the science behind the work and the philosophy….it brings it all together in a cohesive teaching. I felt almost right away, in the beginning weeks of the course that this was for me because it talked about all the deep, esoteric points I’ve been exposed to through other teachings for many years, but in a much more accessible, devotional, humble and scientific way. I knew that this was the path because it touches all 3 aspects of human experience: feeling – through devotion and heart opening aspects; scientific – through ancient yogic teachings and kriya yoga; and mind – through philosophical and universal truths.

    I have dabbled in meditation on and off for several years, mostly in the mindfulness variety. However, those techniques were ineffective when I faced a personal tragedy due to the 2020 pandemic. This course has single-handedly pulled me out of my abyss and did what several grief counselors could not do – helped me heal holistically. The meditation techniques introduced here have been around since ancient times, but they are blended well in the modern format. I had never experienced the mental calm and peace like I did throughout the past few weeks in this course. The joy and wisdom shared by Sagar and Jitendra during the weekly Satsangs have been the highlights of this course for me. The helpful insights from them and Nayaswami Susan for the weekly quizzes were very motivating.     The Lessons in Meditation course gave me so much more than the simple, occasional practice I had been following.     I think the course is absolutely fantastic. The material is extremely profound and even sacred. The teachers are very dedicated and wonderful. I have learned so much. The course manages to be both profound and practical at the same time. My only suggestion is to have a week in the middle that is for catch up or review because it moves very quickly.     Lessons in Meditation is a wonderful course. The course provides so many resources for learning and make ancient yogic meditation techniques extremely accessible. The course provides plenty of information but is not overwhelming. The weekly structure makes it very easy to stay on track.     The purpose of life is to find happiness, wisdom, and peace. I took to spiritual path a year ago, a process of change introduced by life’s events.

    I took this course with little expectations and I was quite eager to see what I would learn. It was an amazing experience overall that I would recommend to anyone seeking clear guidance on understanding what meditation is and isn’t. The course is filled with an abundance of information via literature, videos, and practical exercises to help one develop their practice of meditation.     Wonderful course even if you have been meditating for many years. It helped me to deepen my practice. I especially enjoyed the classes given by Brahmachari Sagar and Jitendra Guindon.     I thought going into this course that I could do this all myself and did not need a class if I had the proper discipline. Not true, I needed this class, and feel like it came to me at the exact right time in my life. It was really important to have the teachers, the webinars, the videos, and all of the provided written materials all in one place. This class really broke things down, even how to sit without pain or numbness, but also covered more advanced ideas. I am very pleased I decided to join this class, and now feel more comfortable joining my local Ananda group once I am able to do so safely (due to the pandemic).     This course didn’t feel like a typical course, despite it being set up like one. The two teachers who were wonderfully welcoming and so knowledgeable. The course made me want to set up a routine, follow through and at the end I learned things to last a lifetime, if only you choose to make it that way.     I was looking for the meditation course for a long time after I read “Autobiography of a Yogi” few years ago. One day I received an email from Crystal Clarity Publishers and learned that Ananda is offering the online courses for the “Lessons in Meditation”. I immediately signed up this course. This course is well structured and scientifically organized and presented via written lessons, videos, audios, and webinars. It started with relaxation techniques for body and mind, followed by single-pointedly concentration technique (Hong Sau) on the object of meditation and expansion techniques. In addition to the techniques, the training focused on developing devotion toward God through visualization exercises, prayer, and chanting. Energization exercises as taught by Paramhansa Yogananda to recharge body, mind and soul were covered in the training. Finally the course explained the benefits of meditation into daily life to connect to God.
    Instructors of the course – Jitendra, Brahmachari Sagar, and Nayaswami are encouraging, knowledgeable, highly experienced and supportive. The webinars were very useful and group meditations were very effective. Weekly quizzes were intended to know if students follow the lessons and instructors provided feedback to uplift meditation practices and understanding. This is a life changing course and is beneficial to people of all backgrounds who want to practice meditation. I thoroughly enjoyed this course and learned new techniques of meditation.

    I have been reading Yogananda’s books and slowly applying his teachings to my life over the past 13 years. Meditation, though practicing on and off for years, was always the one aspect of Yoga that never quit made its way into my daily practices. It often times felt simply impossible! When Covid-19 struck, I felt there were no longer any excuses to hide behind, and without thinking, I made the commitment to dedicate myself to the Meditation Course for the 9 weeks…no matter what! I am so glad that I did! The course taught yoga as a scientific process: the hypothesis that God exists and can be experienced, and the techniques as the scientific experiment itself-using spiritually proven techniques first taught by Yogananda who had attained the highest state of consciousness. I stuck to the scientific program as any scientist would in an experiment, and the results of the experiment were undeniable. After 13 years of thinking I could not meditate, thru this course and its techniques, I have been meditating twice a day and incorporating a meditative attitude to everything throughout my day. I felt like I had support and community, which made all the difference, and I had specific techniques to use no matter what the mediation “problem” was of the day. Meditation is never easy, the Divine wants you to fight for Him-Her, so getting the right tools to even attempt the life-long experiment or journey toward Divine union seemed of the utmost importance. This is what the course did for me…it gave me the specific tools to use on my journey. The outcome of the experiment is in the journey itself. My experiment, the pilgrimage, continues!

    I have meditated irregularly for several years but always with the sense that I wasn’t quite doing it “correctly”. Having recently read two of Paramahansa Yogananda’s books, The Second Coming of Christ and Krishna Talks to Arjuna, I was amazed to then discover this meditation course was available introducing Kriya Yoga.     I am new to meditation, not the concept but the practice of meditation. I am very happy that I found this course. The teaching is so methodical starting with how to sit in the first week. All I had to do was to do the activity suggested for the week. I could not sit for more than few minutes in the first week. By Week 7 I was able to sit and meditate for more than 30 minutes! The teachers are all very responsive. I highly recommend this course.

    For me, taking this course was like coming home!
    I have always been spiritually inclined, having spent my childhood knowing the Divine Anandmayi MA, often visiting her ashram in Haridwar, India.
    With the passage of time, my physical connection with divinity dimmed , and although I lived a very fulfilled and rewarding life, I always felt like something was missing.
    I have practised yoga asanas and meditated off and on, but knew that I needed more. Last year, I finally got around to reading Autobiography of a Yogi! I loved it and felt an instant connection with Paramhansa Yogananda . I became a little obsessed with the idea of learning Kriya Yoga , but didn’t know how to go about it, as we recently relocated to
    Hong Kong from Mumbai.
    One day I found an email regarding this course, and I was ecstatic! I enrolled immediately and here I am , seven weeks later, writing a review.
    How this changes my life, will reveal itself slowly, but I know that it has taught me to meditate more sincerely, deeply, and more importantly, twice daily.
    I feel happier, calmer and blessed!
    To sum up my experience I will say – I have walked on the path of Yoga

I suddenly found this Ananda site and immediately decided to take “Lessons in Meditation”, but I’m glad I took it.     I tried meditating about 18 years ago and just was told to sit and watch my thoughts. I got tired of watching my thoughts and after a couple of years I stopped meditating. In 2019 I tried listening to hemi-sync guided meditations and tried very hard to concentrate on the words being spoken but again I had a wondering mind and I felt empty. Then I read Autobiography of a Yogi by Yogananda and felt very connected to him. While taking this Meditation Class with the wonderful instructors, I gained a deeper understanding of not only meditation but of what is really important in my life. I plan on continuing my journey and getting in touch with my own divinity hoping someday to meet Yogananda and God.

    This Course not only helped me establish a consistent meditation practice, but it has opened my heart to devotion and incorporating spiritual teachings into my daily life.     This class was literally a Godsend for me. I played with meditation for a long time but without consistency so I had, let’s say a quantity problem. In my attempts to meditate I was unable to achieve the deeper states that I knew and felt were available….I simply didn’t know how to do it. That we can call the quality problem. This course provided all the information I needed to improve both quantity and quality of my meditation practice. I am able to call it a “practice” now because I “practice” it daily. The structure provided for the process including the breathing, the chanting, the prayers, Hong Sau technique, and the energization exercises all have allowed me to place a framework around my spiritual practice.
    I cannot say enough about the support provided by the instructors for this class. They have been with us all, each and everyday, as we moved thru the classwork and the practical exercises. Without them I would not have succeeded. For me it is not enough to just read a book on how to meditate, I needed the insight and personal experiences shared by the instructors to really allow me to maximize the learning. Each of them are excellent in their own way and a blessing to all of us on our spiritual path.
    I would, and have recommended, this class to anyone interested in beginning a meditation practice or starting down a spiritual pathway. It was a TEN out of TEN!!! EXCELLENT and FUN.

    I took this course as step 1 on the path toward Kriya Yoga. I had been meditating for years so I really didn’t expect to learn much. To my amazement, I learned more about meditation and how to achieve better results than I thought possible.     I learned so much from this course. Before when I meditated and I would just focus on my higher self, a kind of consciousness feedback loop as it were. That was fine as far as it went, but there was something missing; it was kind of sterile and it didn’t really go anywhere.
    Lessons in Meditation added depth and breadth to my practice. At first, I wondered if the postures and breathing exercises were necessary, but they do help in calming the body and focusing the mind. It’s hard to argue with thousands of years of development, after all. The practices helped me create a space where I could deepen my devotion to the Divine, and that’s where this class really shined.
    More than once, something in the reading or the webinars would answer questions that I had been pondering as if in answer to my prayers.

    I Just completed the “Lessons in Meditation” course. Having read “Man’s Eternal Quest” and “Autobiography of a Yogi” (in that order), I was convinced theoretically -more than 20 years ago- about the purpose of life as explained by Paramhansa Yogananda; to find never ending happiness! Then getting sucked into life made this a second priority ! But now after so many years I am back again, more than convinced that never ending happiness is not to be found in the material world. We are willing to spend hours watching TV or practicing piano etc, years studying to become a Doctor or Lawyer thinking it will bring us permanent happiness, but very little or no time in Meditation, which will bring us the never ending, ever changing joy we all long for. This course has set me on the right path again! The welcoming and understanding teachers have made this course an absolute pleasure. In Sagar, you will find one of the most accomplished teachers. If you have a burning desire to understand the mysteries of life, read the above books and join this course that will culminate in learning Kriya Yoga.

The materials were presented in depth, with a nice range of formats (regular interactive, live stream satsangs, which were also recorded for viewing convenience; video lessons with accompanying PDF transcripts; printed material from Ananda books; chanting. Good instructors and good instructor interactions at a number of levels, including personalized feedback for each lesson quiz. Easy enough not to be an added burden in one’s life, while also challenging enough to actually learn many good tools. The many interlocking aspects of meditation that were presented (including body, mind, soul, and spirit) added to, and greatly enriched what I had previously thought of as simply a struggle just to sit and attempt to clear the mind. I continue to deepen my practice and understanding of the movement of prana, and the Energization Exercises are elegantly simple and hold potential for a process of ongoing deepening and appreciation of the importance of prana.     This course has been more than I would have ever imagined. I began as part of my sacrifice for Lent and was 100% committed to putting every ounce of my effort into this course. I believe that made a big difference. Also the reason I was willing to put all of my effort towards the course was because I had read Autobiography of a Yogi and was drawn to this teaching. But I can’t stress enough how important effort and willingness is. In the 8 weeks it took me to complete this course, my daily experience has changed dramatically. I used to have to drag myself out of bed each morning because I had no energy or excitement about my day. I used to highly depend on distractions and escapes just to make it through my days and weeks. By the time I was halfway through this course, I was able to wake up each morning with a positive outlook and let go of most of my distractions and escapes. For me, this was absolutely miraculous because I had been in this state of functional depression for at least 7 years and nothing had worked. But through this course I experienced an inward sense of peace and joy that I had been looking for outwardly. I’m really looking forward to course #2.

    I was nudged to pursue the path of Kriya Yoga and was more motivated to take the meditation course, I am embarrassed to admit, by the fact that I had to, than by a deep desire to learn more about meditation itself.
    However, I am very grateful that it’s an obligatory course on the journey to learn the Kriya technique, because I have gained so much from it! It is very useful and has taught me, not only a bunch of user-friendly, pleasant and pertinent meditation techniques that enhance my spiritual life, but it has also given me invaluable experiences and skills, such as discipline, an ability to instantly find Joy and it has helped bring a calmness to my life that wasn’t there before.
    I got way more than I ever expected to from this course and would suggest it to anybody who wishes to deepen their relationship with the Divine!

    I have been searching for God all my life but still was wandering. I recently read The Physics of God, which I found fascinating and convincing so I did some research on Joseph Selbie . Among other things, I found his connection with Ananda . I brought up Ananda’s website and found that they would be starting a Course in Meditation. I signed up, and so happy I did. I tried meditation years ago but it did not become part of my life. Now, through this course and the instructors I feel that I have found what I have been looking for.     I think you’ll be hard pressed to find anything negative about this course. It’s simply a positive and uplifting environment to deepen (or start) your meditation practice.

    I had added feedback on various issues or questions I could come up with outside of the course, with suggestions on free resources to check out (like asking questions about back strengthening exercises and such).

    As some of the others have mentioned, I was unable to attend most of the live sessions due to time constraints but it’s all recorded for you and if you have questions you can talk to the instructors directly.

    Due to time zone issues, participating in the ‘group’ online sessions was not possible – however these are all recorded and available to view (for when your time zone allows).

    Bumped into ‘issues’ when participating in the course, however these issues can be addressed and explored with the functionality of the website/tuition portal.

    My spiritual journey has evolved tremendously due to the guidance provided and I cannot highly recommend enough. So much so that I have already enrolled in Step 2, and await the next stone to place my feet upon.

    This course brought more “life” into my life. I have learned about my relationship with God, others, and myself.
    Having to complete the weekly quizzes helped keep me accountable and follow through on meditation on the days I just didn’t want to. Allowing 9 weeks to complete the 7 week course was also beneficial. I didn’t think I’d need the extra time, as I am usually a driven student. I found that this material really required me to follow a different pace – more loving and subtle.
    The Satsang online was really helpful. Feedback was so valuable and encouraging.
    I also truly enjoyed reading from the other participants. There is so much knowledge and diversity. I was also humbled and grateful to learn there are so many others in this world truly seeking the Divine.

    This course exceeded my expectations in every way! I was a little uncertain about the “coldness” of an online environment and also due to a big time difference whether I would feel a part of the community, but the recordings of live sessions made that possible with nothing lost. Yoganada’s warmth was (and is) ever-present. The structure was very beneficial in helping me maintain a regular practice, and the techniques are ones I will be using the rest of my life.     I felt a magnetic pull to this course whilst revisiting Yogananda’s Autobiography of a Yogi and despite a decade of established meditation practice I just knew I had to sign up.     This course has meant so much to me. I have always loved God, but had no one to teach me, though I have sought wisdom. The teachers in this course or so loving and their very faces reflect knowledge of the divine. Also the course is very well designed, so that one can grow at a pace that works with a busy lifestyle.     I have been meditating for some years, learning from various schools. i was at Barbados till 15th of October,2018. I was passing through a torrid time due to the financial scandal and misdemeanour of the CEO of the university. I did my best for the students of the medical school and then came back to Hyderabad, following a circuitous route. i was down financially as well. Somehow, i know that I will be able to come through the ordeal. After reaching home, I was laid up with viral fever. Being a physician and teacher, i have served my best to the downtrodden people and thus , even at the age of 72 yrs, I am not financially sound. i have been going through this meditation course. it has definitely fortified my will power . i am still passing through stormy time. I hope that, what I learnt from this course will definitely help me in attaining salvation and joy for ever. I wish to learn further.

    I may have attended an “online” course, but it felt anything but. The level of care and support extended by the instructors makes you feel as though you are a part of an extended family who genuinely care about your spiritual growth and well being. Despite the immense wisdom and experience shared among the people teaching this course, there was never a moment of superiority or ego displayed by these model citizens for humanity. I was encouraged to fully engage in the course but the method of encouragement resulted in greater enthusiasm rather than a feeling of obligation. The content was very clear and the course was structured in a way where the teachings built up each other without every feeling overwhelming. There was 100% support from the fully present instructors every step of the way. The readings, audio, video and tools such as the ananda app provide your with a solid foundation to work with. I live close to one of the centers and visited ananda twice for 2 days each visit during the duration of the course, which enhanced the experience and what I was able to get out of the program. This is so much more that just a “lesson in meditation”, it’s a framework clearly laid out that shows you how to begin a clear, happy, functional and productive life. The residents and Ananda and instructors are living proof that what they are doing actually works. They really walk the walk. The joy and peace that they radiate are what I can strive towards achieving through this program and I am so grateful to have these roles models who can help me navigate out of the disfunction into a state of bliss.

    This is a wonderful course for spiritual seekers and meditators at all levels of skill and aspiration . First , it sets the framework for a strong daily practice involving meditation , visualization , prayer , affirmations , daily living and lifestyle . Much emphasis is placed on developing your Prana (life-force ) in a very positive manner . Topics such as personal magnetism , vibrations , positive affirmation and the power of prayer are all taught with enough detail to implement them in your daily life . The podcasts are of great value , extremely informative and inspiring . The Gurus teaching this course are very approachable and actually reach out to their students on their own initiative to assist them when needed . No matter what meditative or religious tradition someone is from , this is an amazing course that is taught by sincere and talented teachers .     What a blessing! It’s incredible to feel that from here in my little home in New Hampshire I feel completely embraced by and part of this global community of seekers. The world has become a smaller and friendlier place since joining this course and connecting with so many other precious drops in this vast ocean of oneness, with special gratitude to our teachers Sagar, Jitendra and Susan. I still have a busy mind and a long way to go (a path I can travel right here with all of you since I will be signing up for the next course in January) but I now feel I have a firm grounding in my practice, greatly increased equanimity, and expanded compassion for myself and others on this path (and for those not yet on it, or at least not consciously). I have a set of practices that have become familiar to me and that I trust will continue to deepen. Best of all, Paramahansa Yogananda comes increasingly present to me each day. I highly highly recommend this course.

    Some years before I started this course, I have had a good meditation-Practice, with Buddhist Vipassana meditation. But this I lost through private circumstances. As I started this course my main goal was, to find a way…. and to strengthen my less spiritual discipline.
    The books of Paramhansa Yoganananda inspired me. This course, the step 1 of the path, was maybe the most important step in my life. I could restore my discipline and could thanks the very motivating support and care of a friendly team find more inner peace. Now I’m strong motivated to go further. Thanks for the great help.

The source materials, videos, webinars, weekly guided meditations and, wonderful instructors all add up to a really in depth and highly informative introduction to meditation. The videos with Swami Kriyananda , in and of themselves, are a real treasure. The instructors are invaluable as well. Real people really living the path as Paramahansa Yogananda presented it.     I’d been practicing meditation for about a year before finding the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda through Swami Kriyananda.     I am so happy that I joined this course. I am meditating for more than two years now but meditating without proper learning the process is like trying to read books without learning abc.

    Even though I had been meditating for several years before attending this course; the methods, techniques, and inspiration shared by the instructors have helped me immensely. Where my practice was sporadic, it is now consistent. Where it was at times a struggle to relax and go deep, it is now nearly effortless.     I thoroughly enjoyed this course on the first step towards Kriya Yoga. Many and almost all of the teachings of this course I have included in my daily practice.     I enjoyed this course and went from meditating sporadically to meditating daily.
    The amount of support material was more thorough
    than many other online courses I’ve taken, which cost twice as much.
    The material was presented in a step by step way that was easy to follow
    and the exercises to do each week were clearly delineated.
    The teachers responded quickly, thoughtfully and in an encouraging
    manner. Being able to download the .pdf’s and .mp3’s was very convenient.
    All of this helped to make the course was very inspiring and made me want to continue
    with the next in the series. My sincere thanks to the teachers!
